Jubilee deputy party leader dr.Fred Matiang'iThe Jubilee Party has sharply criticized the government over the rising cost of living, insecurity, and what it termed as dangerous political rhetoric in the country.
In a press statement released on May 20, the party expressed concern over the nationwide transport paralysis caused by the recent transporters’ strike following increased fuel prices. Jubilee claimed the situation reflects poor economic management and accused the government of shifting blame instead of addressing the struggles facing Kenyans.
The party further accused leaders in the current administration of targeting former President Uhuru Kenyatta and his family rather than focusing on governance and economic recovery.
“Instead of fixing the collapsing economy and addressing the pain Kenyans are going through, they have chosen to spend their time launching relentless attacks on a retired President,” jubilee secretary general
Jubilee defended Uhuru Kenyatta’s leadership, saying he handed over power constitutionally and peacefully, and urged the current administration to take responsibility for the country’s challenges.
The party also condemned what it described as attempts to weaponize ethnicity in politics, warning leaders against divisive rhetoric. Jubilee stated that Kenya is bigger than political interests and called on leaders to promote unity instead of tribal divisions.
At the same time, the party raised concerns about insecurity, deaths linked to protests, and alleged corruption within government circles. According to Jubilee, public frustration is growing due to the rising cost of living and economic hardship affecting ordinary citizens.
The statement ended with a call for accountability from leaders and urged the government to focus on solving the challenges affecting Kenyans rather than engaging in political blame games.
