United Democratic Alliance has announced that it will conduct the Repeat Phase II Grassroots Elections on Thursday, April 23, 2026, in 18 counties across the country.

According to a media briefing released by the party, the exercise will be held in Kisumu, Siaya, Migori, Kisii, Bungoma, Makueni, Machakos, Kitui, Isiolo, Marsabit, Taita Taveta, Lamu, Tana River, Kilifi, Kwale, Mombasa, Turkana, and Kajiado. However, elections in Kajiado County will instead take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

The party revealed that more than 450,000 candidates have registered to contest for 20 available positions at various polling centres. These positions include representatives for women, youth, persons with special interests, farmers, religious groups, professionals, and MSMEs/traders.

UDA further stated that approximately 8 million voters are expected to participate in the elections across more than 9,000 polling centres.

The party said it will deploy end-to-end technology during the voting process, including 9,500 electronic voting tablets already positioned at polling centres. Results are expected to be available through a public portal on the party’s official website.

Voting is scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM and close at 5:00 PM.

Once completed, the process is expected to produce 182,240 elected grassroots officials with what the party described as a direct mandate from members.

UDA noted that it has already successfully conducted grassroots elections in 25 counties so far.
