Jubilee Calls for United Opposition Ahead of Ol Kalou By-Election

By Faith Wanza

Jubilee Party has called for opposition unity ahead of the upcoming Ol Kalou by-election, urging coalition partners to support a single candidate under the party’s banner.

In a press statement dated April 22, 2026, the party said the by-election presents a key opportunity for opposition leaders to demonstrate unity and offer Kenyans a credible alternative government.

The statement was issued following the burial of David Kiaraho, who was described as a humble and dedicated leader with a strong bond with the people of Ol Kalou Constituency.

Jubilee stated that it will field a candidate in the by-election, noting that the seat was previously held by a Jubilee Party member. It also assured residents of free, fair, and transparent nominations that reflect democratic values and the will of the people.

The party said Kenyans are increasingly demanding unity of purpose among opposition leaders, calling for cooperation over competition and solidarity over fragmentation.

Jubilee further cited previous efforts to back a united opposition front in by-elections, including in Mbeere North Constituency and Emurua Dikirr Constituency, where coalition partners supported single candidates.

The statement also clarified that Jubilee intends to field candidates in all elective positions across the country, from MCA seats to the presidency, in the 2027 General Election.
